What Kanid stores, what never leaves your phone, and who else sees anything.
The short version
We don’t sell your data or your dog’s, and we don’t use it for advertising. We store only what the app needs, and you can delete all of it from Profile.
What we store
About you: your email and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier they give us. The password is stored encrypted; nobody sees it.
About your dog: name, sex, date of birth or life stage, size, activity level, whether they are neutered and their body condition. Plus their weight history, goals, the routines you complete and your achievements.
Their health record, if you use it: the vaccines, treatments, vet visits and conditions you write down, with their dates, and the reminders for what is due. It is health data about your dog, and it is stored so you can consult it; it is deleted with your account like everything else.
About your subscription: whether it is active and until when. We never see your card or payment details.
What never leaves your phone
Your dog’s photo stays on your device. We never upload it to any server.
Photos you scan
When you scan a food label, the photo travels to our server and from there to the artificial intelligence provider that reads it. The photo is not stored anywhere: we keep only a mathematical fingerprint of the image and the product data (brand, kcal), so the same bag is not analysed twice.
The same happens with the photo of their record card and with the photo used to read what your dog looks like: they are sent, they are read, and they are dropped. Neither of those two is stored, not even as a fingerprint. What is kept is only what you confirm afterwards: the entries you accept into their health record.
Your questions to Kanid
Your questions and the answers are stored so you can read the conversation again; you can delete it any time from that screen. To answer you, the question and your dog’s data are sent to the artificial intelligence provider. If you attach a photo, it is sent to be looked at and is not stored.
Who else sees anything
Apple and Google, if you sign in with them, to confirm it is you. RevenueCat and Apple, to handle the subscription. Our artificial intelligence provider, to answer questions and read labels. Sentry, to tell us when the app breaks. TelemetryDeck, to count which screens get used and where people give up, so we know what to fix first. Those last two receive the name of the screen and nothing else: not your email, not your dog’s photos, not what you write. Nobody else, and none of them receives your data in order to sell you anything.
Deleting everything
Profile › Delete account erases your account and with it your dog, their weight history, goals, achievements and conversations. It is immediate and irreversible.
